How To Get Rid Of Love Handles - Manage Your Weight Loss Like A Project

If you find liposuction expensive or too girlie, you are left with one other option on how to get ride of love handles: you lose weight through a paced workout while observing a sensible and healthy diet. But that's not going to happen on its own: you have to have a way to monitor weight changes after a specific period, you have to have some targets against which to compare your current weight. In short, you need to manage your weight loss like a project, that is how to get rid of love handles.

Here's the thing: starting a diet can be a good experience, at least on a short term run. You will lose some pounds on the first five days, up to a week, and then you will smile happily. The diet seems to be real! Your love handles will soon be only a memory. Or so you hope.

On the second week, the weighing scale won't lie: you've gained a couple of pounds again. How on earth? you ask. Time for some hard fat facts.

First, whatever you lose in the first couple of weeks during your diet is nothing but fluid loss, it's not fat. This initial weight loss gives a lot of people some false security and they tend to slide back into their previous eating habits. Second, no matter how much you hate those love handles, as with the other flabs on your body, they will not go away on their own.

How to get rid of love handles is essentially how to lose weight. Remember those construction workers on TV, with their hardhats and clipboards and line charts marking the progress of their building project? That's how you should treat your weight loss, like a project.

You will have to pace yourself. Mark off some estimates, like if you lose two to three pounds a week, and you have twenty pounds as your target weight to lose, you can sit down to do the math: you have about ten weeks before you are even in the vicinity of that target weight. Better not promise to attend that high school reunion, that birthday batch, or a week on the beach. Losing weight is not something to hastily commit to. It is a methodical and planner process.

Nothing like numbers to tell you straight facts. So go get one of those large calendars, which you can pin beside your bathroom mirror, and write at the end of every week two things: the pounds you are to lose by that time, and the verdict of the weighing scale also at that point in time. Commit to this practice of weighing yourself and marking off your weight and you will be able to check if you are within your projected pace of weight loss.

On a week when you exceed you two to three pounds to shed off, smile and pat yourself on the back, but don't be to assured. Any sudden splurge on sweets and junk foods and you could easily gain the pounds you lost.

At the end of those estimated ten weeks, you should arrive at a number to be compared with the verdict of the weighing scale. With some perseverance and a chosen workout plus diet of your choice, you should be on your way. Approach your weight loss as a project, that is how to get rid of love handles.
