Anticoagulants and Vitamin K

Patients undergoing anticoagulant medication therapy with Coumadin (coumadin, panwarfarin) demand to follow a consistent feeding pattern. In particular, a sudden addition or lessening in nutrients rich in Vitamin Kelvin should be avoided. Vitamin Kelvin is used by the liver to fabricate some of the clotting factors necessary for coagulum formation. Warfarin and Vitamin Kelvin interfere with each other's actions; therefore, dramatic displacements in eating forms should be carefully monitored by assessing its impact on factor II time. Prothrombin clip is a diagnostic test that measurements how long it takes for blood to clot.

Foods of high or medium Vitamin Kelvin content make not necessitate to be avoided. It is most of import to avoid disconnected additions or lessenings in the consumption of Vitamin Kelvin rich foods, especially those with very high levels.
